Dan Wellik is currently an assistant baseball coach at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa and serves as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Duhawks. He began his coaching career while in college as the skipper for high school and American Legion baseball teams in western Iowa. In 2005 he was named head coach of the Iowa Lakes American Legion team and led the squad to two third-place finishes in 2005 and 2006. Wellik also served one year as an assistant coach at Waldorf College under Hyannis manager Chad Gassman. Most recently, he helped Loras College make their longest postseason run in eight years. Wellik, originally from Forest City, Iowa, was a student-athlete at Iowa Lakes Community College before concluding his playing career at Waldorf College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Psychology at Loras College. Dan and his wife Tracee reside in Dubuque, Iowa. |
