Andrew had the lowest ERA among Mets starting pitchers last summer at 2.83 and returns to co-anchor a rotation that also brings back Austin Hudson. He went 4-1 on the season, including a complete-game shutout. Andrew was a reliable option out of the bullpen for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2007, appearing in 21 games and allowing just 12 earned runs. He attended Alleman High School in Rock Island, Ill., and lettered all four years. As a senior he earned Chicago Tribune All-State honors by going 14-1 with a 0.88 ERA and a .468 average at the plate. He was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 39th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. Andrew has yet to declare a major.
