The Hyannis Athletic Association is thrilled to include a number of talented, motivated student interns among its volunteer ranks each summer. Interns with the Hyannis Mets receive valuable experience in a wide variety of fields while enjoying a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Alumni of the Hyannis Mets internship program have found exciting employment opportunities open to them in the fields of broadcasting, sports information, marketing, public relations, and management.

Students interested in an internship with the Hyannis Mets should contact intern coordinator Laurie Pfeifer at lspfeifer(at)aol.com. Prospective interns should expect to provide a résumé, references, and other samples as deemed necessary by the desired position within the organization. All interns are expected to provide their own housing and work arrangements for the summer. School credit may be earned upon mutual agreement between the student, the school, and the Mets organization.

All interns are expected to attend all home games and assist in gameday setup and operations. This includes setting up tables at entry gates, putting up and taking down banners, and any other duties as assigned. Interns are expected to arrive at McKeon Park at least one-and-a-half hours before game time.

The following are some of the positions that interns may hold during the season:

Team Photography Intern - Works with team media staff taking photos of games for Web site and team publications.

Writing Intern – Works with team media staff to create nightly game stories for Web site.

Assistant to Intern Coordinator - Works with intern coordinator scheduling and directing interns for game day set up; including banners, gates, and 50/50.

Database Manager - Works with team president to develop membership, clinic and alumni databases.

Clinic Assistant - Works with coach at baseball clinics, checking in campers on first days of camp, setting up attendance sheet, and accounting of funds.

Promotion Assistant - Works with team to develop and implement programs promoting the team in the community.
